Anna Larson DPT

Anna (she/her/hers) is a Washington state native. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Public Health with a minor in nutrition at the University of Washington. After a couple of years working for nonprofits in Seattle, she returned to the University of Washington to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Her clinical experiences included rotations in: acute care, outpatient neurological rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedic and sports. She also participated in a research project during her DPT program regarding breathing biomechanics and pelvic floor function with Kathe Wallace, a leader in the pelvic floor rehabilitation field. This experience ignited her passion for learning all she could about pelvic floor function and dysfunction.

Since graduating, she has taken several continuing education courses specific to pelvic floor rehabilitation through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and the American Physical Therapy Association’s Section on Pelvic Health. Anna has a special interest in guiding patients through their pregnancy and postpartum journeys who may be experiencing: low back pain, SI joint dysfunction, stress incontinence, urge incontinence, prolapse, diastasis recti, and pelvic pain disorders. She also loves to provide push-prep knowledge for patients in order to feel empowered and educated on options for their birth plan and aftercare. She has a strong orthopedic foundation and has treated many orthopedic/sports conditions including:

  • herniated discs
  • degenerative disc disease
  • spinal stenosis
  • rotator cuff pathologies
  • knee pain disorders
  • osteoarthritis
  • labral tears
  • aftercare following total joint replacements
  • chronic pain disorders
  • cervical and lumbar radiculopathy
  • sciatica
  • foot/ankle injuries

Anna’s clinical philosophy involves using evidenced-based practice along with an individualized treatment plan for each patient. Anna believes healing a physical injury requires incorporating all aspects of an individual; mental, emotional, environmental, social, and biological.

Prior to physical therapy school, she was a yoga instructor for four years. She loves to incorporate this training into her pelvic floor treatment sessions using breathwork and stretches as a way to downregulate the nervous system as a starting point for all her patients.

In her life outside of the clinic, she loves being active outdoors; hiking, playing beach volleyball, cooking new recipes, group fitness classes, going to concerts, and discovering new artists to listen to.
